My Philosophy

I believe in a thoughtful, personal approach to music education — one that nurtures creativity, builds strong technique, and fosters a lasting relationship with music.
In a world that moves fast and often feels disconnected, music offers a rare space to slow down, listen closely, and connect to something deeply human. Through this process, students develop not just musical skill, but patience, focus, resilience, and the quiet confidence to express themselves — in music and in life.

About Jenny Lee
I'm a lifelong musician, songwriter, and teacher with almost three decades of experience helping people of all ages connect with music in a personal and meaningful way.

After many years of performing around the world, recording and releasing my own albums, and teaching in Berlin and San Francisco, I created what is now Pac Heights Music School — a place where my passion for teaching and musical exploration can thrive.

I received a classical music education in Europe, which gives my teaching a strong technical foundation and deep understanding of musical form. That said, my teaching is not limited to classical music — I work across a wide range of styles, including pop, rock, jazz, folk, and singer-songwriter. I tailor each lesson to the student’s goals and musical interests, and I teach in both English and German.

As a mother, I especially enjoy working with children, creating a fun, accessible, and supportive environment where young learners can thrive.

For me, music is much more than a skill — it’s a way to connect with our inner world and what makes us human. It helps us feel more deeply, express what words often can’t, and stay in touch with our emotions. I love helping students access that space and grow a relationship with music that strengthens them — one that allows for both vulnerability and resilience.

Whether we're working on technique, writing original songs, preparing for performance, or exploring recording, I guide students to develop both skill and creative freedom. Songwriting can be a powerful way to reflect, tell stories, and shape ideas into something uniquely their own.

Alongside building strong foundations in voice, guitar, or piano, I encourage students to experiment, take risks, and grow into their own sound — on stage or in the studio.
